An immigrant from northern Italy who made Rio de Janeiro his home, Giuseppe Pellegrini — Pellé — became a pioneer of modern mountaineering in Brazil and a central figure in the history of Sugarloaf Mountain. Over five decades, he established iconic climbing routes, trained generations of guides and served as technical director of Companhia Caminho Aéreo Pão de Açúcar, applying his experience on the rock face to the maintenance and safety of the cable car. Through archival footage, analog photographs and testimony from climbing partners and engineers, the documentary recovers the memory of a man who brought together the mountains, engineering and Rio’s landscape.
